Welcome to the Project Stratos website! Here you can find all the information you need about Kesgrave High School's mission to the edge of space! We will update this site regualary with the latest information about the project, currently we have enough money to send a payload to the edge of space attached to a large helium balloon. Inside the payload will be the worlds smallest tracker and a camera. Hopefully we will receive some amazing images from space!
We have had help from BT, IBM and Steve Randall in the making of our project and hope that you would like to get involved. You can do this by following the links at the top of the page to our facebook, twitter and ustream account or by browsing the forum and blog. Please register to be informed on the exact date of the launch as we cannot predict the jet-stream winds this far into the future, we plan to launch some time this summer. This is because depending on how windy it is, the more likely we will loose our balloon into the sea!
